North Korea says Donald Trump should be sentenced to death after calling maniac despot Kim Jong-un ‘short and fat’.
The over-the-top response comes days after the US president whined on social media that Jong-un had called him “old,” before noting that he had refrained from commenting on the dictator’s height and weight.
After seeing Trump’s tweet, The North Korean Workers’ Party newspaper Rodong Sinmun declared that Trump had now been “sentenced to death by the Korean people.”
It added:
“The worst crime for which he can never be pardoned is that he dared [to] malignantly hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership.
“He should know that he is just a hideous criminal sentenced to death by the Korean people.”
The petty war of words between the two leaders has been escalating since Trump took to power in November last year.
Since becoming president, Trump has engaged in an escalating war of words with Kim Jong-Un, trading personal insults and threats of military strikes and raising concerns about an outbreak of hostilities.
In April, Trump said of jong-un:
“We can’t let a madman with nuclear weapons on the loose like that.”
Then in May after three missiles were set off, Trump wrote on Twitter:
“North Korea has shown great disrespect for their neighbor, China, by shooting off yet another ballistic missile…but China is trying hard”
Then in July, North Korea began to hit back.
On US Independence Day, the country launched an intercontinental ballistic missile, which they said was capable of “hitting anywhere in the world.”
They followed this up by declaring:
“The American ******** would not be very happy with this gift sent on the July 4 anniversary”.
In August Trump then hit back with
“They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen .”
The pair have been exchanging insults since, with Jong-un calling Trump a “Dotard” – which means old or weak – on September 21.
